Hot Styling Tools

Working with hot tools such as blowdryers and flat irons can be dangerous. Good common sense should be employed with the use of hot tools, such as but not limited to

(a) immediately stopping use of hot tools should applying heat to the hair and scalp become too hot.

(b) turning down the heat settings to a more moderate or cool temperature should the hair or scalp start to feel too hot.

(c) rapidly moving the blowdryer tool around to distribute heated air in a less concentrated way so as to avoid burning hair or scalp.

(d) in the event of burn injury, immediately applying tepid or cool, but not cold, water to the site of injury, and seeking immediate medical care.

Each person has their own allergies and sensitivities to chemical additives which may be in styling aids, shampoos, and conditioners. It is advised that each person carefully review the ingredients of each styling aid prior to application to the skin to determine if an adverse reaction to the product may occur.
